Current research in molecular biology and protein function has many applications in health care and agriculture with the potential to provide solutions to many of the problems facing society. However, the many advances in what is now possible technically also raise issues of what is desirable with regard to economics, human health and wellbeing. Students at this school can learn not only the details of the individual subjects but also take a broader overview, integrating their knowledge from a range of relevant topics to enable them to take a more holistic approach to problem solving.
