Researcher InformationThe School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation aims to send out into the world graduates capable of working with a diverse array of people to solve issues affecting all of humanity. To ensure that you gain these abilities, the Collaborative Subjects that you are required to study in your second and third years adopt the team-based learning approach, in which students are divided into small groups of five or so and identify for themselves issues requiring a solution from the teaching materials that they are assigned to study. Each group member then gains the requisite knowledge and shares it with the other members of their group. I hope that you’ll enjoy the unique approach to learning that this school provides, gaining more in-depth knowledge and skills while engaging in discussions with other groups and classmates—international students among them—with a variety of viewpoints.
