Message for high school students

I have been interested in the molecular basis of sex characteristics development and evolution that allowed the diversification of biological species. Mainly, the medaka has been used for my study. To elucidate the molecular basis of biodiversity, it is necessary to acquire a broad perspective drawn from fields such as ecology, genetics, evolutionary developmental biology and environmental science and consider the interrelationships between them. Our faculty will foster an interdisciplinary way of thinking and multifaceted view essential for understanding the biological phenomena.
