Researcher InformationAt the School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation, students need to be willing to learn for themselves, clarifying their own individual awareness of issues and identifying measures for solving those problems. Perhaps other countries face similar issues or perhaps those problems are similar in structure to problems that have already been tackled in the past in other fields. At this school, we hope to produce talented individuals who are readily able to transcend national borders and the boundaries between disciplines to search for the optimum solution at that point in time. I’ve been in charge of the 21st Century Program for nearly 10 years now. I’m sure that everyone who has come into contact with 21st Century Program students or alumni has received a highly favorable impression of them. I hope that the School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation will inherit the DNA of the 21st Century Program, which we created together. At this school, we’ll consider mechanisms for cherishing the youthful sensibilities of our students and bringing out their full potential. I’m looking forward to the day when I can learn alongside you as members of the School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation.
