In cooperation with the Ukiha City Hall, a newspaper-making workshop was held. Jun.24,2025
ISI and Ukiha City collaborated to hold a newspaper-making workshop at the Ukiha City. Twelve local elementary school students participated as journalists, while two high school students joined as volunteer staff. The elementary school students fully immersed themselves in the role of journalists, experiencing the entire process from reporting to article writing and presentation. Through a lecture by a reporter from The Nishinippon Shimbun, they reflected on what is “a newspaper free from conventional framework” that can convey the true facination of Ukiha City and created their original newspapers.
Additionally, the workshop was featured on KBC Radio's “Furusato Wish” program on the same day.
The intergenerational group work involving Kyoso students, high school students, and elementary school students provided a valuable opportunity for the elementary school students to rediscover and share the various charms of their hometown, Ukiha City.
We will continue to strengthen our collaboration with Ukiha City and work toward the ongoing implementation of this program in the future.
