Delegation from Lingnan University Visits ISI Dec.19,2022
On Thursday, December 15, 2022, School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation (ISI) hosted a visit by Professor Shalendra SHARMA, Associate Vice-President (Academic Quality Assurance and Internationalization) and Mr. Gavin Chung-hei NGAI, Lingnan University, Hong Kong.
The purpose of this visit was to exchange opinions with the aim of further educational collaboration, given the current active exchange between Lingnan University and ISI after the signing of the faculty-level exchange agreement in January 2019.
After exchanging warm welcoming speeches, the discussion began with Lingnan University's introduction of the ISI as a strategic partner. Both sides were satisfied with the results of COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning: Online learning in which students interact with overseas partner universities, share problems, and work together to solve them.), which was implemented for the first time this year between the two universities and confirmed their intention to continue it next year. In addition to this, Lingnan University has proposed a faculty exchange program, which will be discussed in detail in the future.
The participants also deepened their understanding through a question-and-answer session with Vice Dean/Professor Johan Lauwereyns (Senior Vice President of Kyushu University), Associate Professor Kang IkJoon, and Special Advisor to the President/Professor Emeritus Masahiro Okamoto of the ISI. Also, at a lunch meeting which Associate Professor Li Xiaoyan too, both sides firmly agreed to continue developing educational collaboration in the future.
