Focusing on the theme of “space design” to foster smooth relationships among students, I engaged in multiple initiatives throughout my university career. Leveraging my experience in launching and managing the Student Musical Club “Ito” (Italento) and serving as a leader for the undergraduate orientation program, I established “ISISN” (Kyoso Student Network) to promote information sharing and foster an environment for dialogue within the department. Additionally, as an extension of lecture work, I served as the coordinator for the “Ukihajime” project—a collaborative initiative with Ukiha City—and took on the challenge of creating a space where people from different backgrounds could work together. |

Mizuki Minami has worked on numerous projects centered on a clear idea: designing spaces that improve relationships among students. In particular, he played a central role in starting the student theater group “Ito” and the “ISI Student Network.” Through these efforts, he created valuable opportunities for ISI students to connect with one another during the difficult period when the newly established ISI was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also deepened his own learning through these activities. These efforts can be highly evaluated as a connected practice that aligns with the ideas of ISI. |

*2 Liberal Arts Program for Next Leaders~人間を考える学び舎~に参加・運営*3わーくしょっぷ屋さんhttps://www.instagram.com/work_shop_83?igsh=OGozOXViZTd6aGVr Dr. Tetsu Nakamura was killed in a shooting when I was in high school. This inspired me to study at Kyushu University, where he had studied. After entering the university, I joined “Tetsuenkai”, a group that aims to carry on Dr. Nakamura’s spirit, and later served as its representative. I planned and organized lectures and dialogue events in collaboration with Kyushu University, Peshawar-kai, journalists, a junior high school, and publishing companies. Over the course of four years, I reflected on what it truly means to inherit Dr. Nakamura’s aspirations. I created spaces for dialogue where people could reflect on themselves and society, as a way to carry on his spirit. |

Shodai Sakai has focused his activities on creating spaces where people can truly face and understand each other. In particular, through managing the student group “Workshop-ya-san” and leading the “Tetsuen-kai,” he worked to continue the spirit of Dr. Tetsu Nakamura. Through lectures, discussion meetings, and fieldwork, he connected people from different backgrounds. By working closely with related organizations, he continuously planned and managed public spaces for dialogue. This can be seen as an effort that goes beyond the level of an undergraduate student. These activities show the philosophy of ISI in real social practice. For these reasons, Shodai is recognized as deserving of the ISI Activity Award. |
