Visit of National Taiwan University (NTU) delegation to ISI Jun.27,2023

On Monday, June 19, 2023, we had the honor of hosting a delegation from National Taiwan University, including Dean/ Distinguished Professor Robin Bing-Yu Chen and Associate Dean/Professor Shenglin Elijah Chang.

The purpose of this visit was to engage in discussions and exchanges of ideas aimed at further educational collaboration between ISI and NTU's D-School. The discussions were led by Vice Dean/Professor Johan Lauwereyns of ISI, Associate Professor Sho Kojirou from the Faculty of Human-Environment Studies, and others.

Through fruitful exchanges, including discussions and Q&A sessions with Vice Dean Johan Lauwereyns, Professor Masahiro Okamoto (Special Advisor to the Dean/Professor Emiritus), Associate Professor Li, Xiaoyan, Associate Professor Brezina Jan, and Lecturer Asuka Yamamoto, both parties deepened their understanding. The delegation also had a meeting with Dean Kaburagi to report on the future collaboration. A pleasant lunch meeting at Itori-Ito further fostered camaraderie among the participants.

About D-School:
Stanley Wang D-School@NTU, also known as D-School, was established in 2015. In 2021, it transformed into a functional college that emphasizes both education and research. It launched the Trans-disciplinary Bachelor Degree (TBD) Program, which allows students from existing discipline-based colleges to apply and join the program in their sophomore year. This program provides a learner-centered interdisciplinary environment, aligning closely with the concept of ISI. TBD program students have the option to obtain a joint degree from their original college and D-School or solely pursue a degree from D-School
