On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the ISI's Fall Commencement Ceremony was held at the Ito Campus. Seven students received their degrees.

At the ceremony, Dean Kaburagi gave a warm congratulatory address to the graduates, saying,

On behalf of the entire ISI faculty and staff, I extend our heartfelt congratulations to the 7 graduates who began their university journey in 2020, a period of global anxiety as the COVID-19 pandemic gripped the world. The School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation was founded to cultivate innovative thinking for global challenges, and graduates embody this ideal. As you reflect on your journey, you are encouraged to embrace resilience and determination. We are grateful for your efforts and I wish you continuous growth and success in all your endeavours.

At the Autumn Commencement 2024, the Student Representative, Ms. Nur Sabrina Binte Mohamad Suhaimi from Singapore, delivered a speech where she used the process of making "Taiyaki" to symbolize her student life and learning experiences.

She compared the Taiyaki batter to the foundation of diverse learning and experiences gained during student life, and the filling to each student's unique experiences and individuality. She likened the cooking time of the Taiyaki to "fate," emphasizing the importance of trusting the timing and enjoying the process as it unfolds.
Reflecting on the period when online classes were the norm due to the impact of COVID-19, she spoke about the strength gained by overcoming those challenges. In closing, she encouraged everyone to take pride in being pioneers of their faculty and move forward with confidence toward the future.

After the ceremony, the students took pictures and said goodbye to their classmates and faculty members as they departed for the next stage of their lives.
