The president and delegation from Pukyong National University (Busan, South Korea) visited our campus. Dec.3,2025

On Thursday, November 27, a delegation from Pukyong National University (Busan, Korea), including the President BAE; Dean LEE, Vice-Dean HA and Professor OH of the College of Environmental and Marine Sciences and Technology (CEMST); Director SEO of the International Exchange Headquarters, visited ITO campus. The visit included a courtesy call on the President Ishibashi, discussions for further collaboration, and an interaction session with the students from the School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation (ISI).

Pukyong National University is one of our valuable partners and the School of ISI has been implementing a unique short-term program called “COOL (Collaborative Online-Onsite Learning)”, which combines online COIL with the onsite short-term study abroad, in collaboration with the CEMST since the 2024 academic year. Under the leadership of Associate Professor Kang Ik-Joon, who serves as the program coordinator, the partnership between the two universities has been further strengthened.

Upon arrival on campus, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the President Ishibashi. Following greetings from both university presidents, discussions were held together with the Dean Araya and other faculties of the School of ISI regarding the promotion of joint research and the enhancement of student and faculty exchanges, reaffirming a commitment to further collaboration.

Subsequently, Dean LEE and Vice-Dean HA attended an interaction session with the students participating in the COOL program this academic year. Following a greeting from Dean LEE, the session included self-introductions, informal conversations, and the sharing of experiences by last year’s participants. Through these interactions, the students seemed even more excited and motivated for their upcoming trip to Korea in February.

Through this visit, the partnership between the two universities has been further strengthened, and greater development in joint research and academic exchange is expected.
