Orientation for New ISI students enrolling in October 2022 held by School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation (ISI) Oct.12,2022

On Monday, October 3, 2022, School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation (ISI) held the Orientation for New ISI students enrolling in October 2022, welcoming 33 new international students under a clear autumn sky.

Amidst measures taken to prevent COVID-19 infection, 10 regular international students and 23 exchange students, as well as faculty members, staff, and students, approx. 90 participated in the orientation. Associate Professor Xiaoyan Li, in charge of inbound students, moderated the orientation, which began with a welcome speech, followed by an introduction to the ISI, an explanation of procedures for taking classes, and other necessary information for their new lives here. The students introduced themselves to each other, their academic advisors and "buddies," student supporters of the ISI, which made the atmosphere relaxed and many smiles were seen. The students seemed excited about their new lives.

Four years have passed since the ISI was established in April 2018. This year, as the pandemic subsides, we welcomed exchange students from partner universities abroad, creating an environment that promotes diversity even further. We will continue to provide a learning environment where students from diverse backgrounds can learn together in "Class Share" classes as well as in their daily lives to help students develop a global mindset.
